Ok my program has four weeks of hard workouts left before a taper for racing.
I have managed to do something to my leg. No idea what it is but my ankle is sore, the leg is weak and it alters my stride although I can still run on it with some discomfort. Injury gives me a slight limp when not running. Been to physio but she was useless as tits on a wild boar hog.
Anyway I have three options:
1. Keep running on it. Hope discomfort does not get worse. Make it through next four weeks and then rest and race
2. Cross train. This would be the bike for me. Could sub the bike and do hard workouts and long cycles to keep fitness up.
3. Take a break for 2 - 3 weeks and start over. I am just getting back to a formal programme and my main focus is building fitness rather than running races. I could call it quits for the "season" now. Rest up and come back with easy mileage just building up.
What do people think is the best option?
