How many of you are Organic Chemists or at least passed that malicious course?
How many of you are Organic Chemists or at least passed that malicious course?
i'm a chemist, but not organic! passed the class though
Taught HS chem for 8 years but I wouldn't call myself a chemist by any stretch of the imagination. I did pass organic but it was pretty tough as I remember.
I just passed the course last semester. Organic is the most time consuming courses I have ever taken.
Yeah I took O-chem I and II. I thought it was pretty easy. P-chem on the other hand was pretty hard. Have any of you guys ever try to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow. (i.e. cross streams)? That is hard stuff.
I thought you told me crossing the streams was bad?
Why would you EVER want to reverse the polarity of the neutron flow? Dude must be crazy!
Passed I&II.... I had to pull a lot of all-nighters to pull myself up from failing to a C in Orgo II. That class sucked taking it at a school on trimesters, ten weeks is way too little time to cram in all of the information needed in that class.
Good luck/God Speed
Uhhh I'm majoring in biochemistry, as well as exercise science.............. I have no intent on pursuing a professional in the field of oraganic chemistry but that's not necessarily a prerequisite for calling oneself an organic chemist. It just makes me sound smarter than other people, which is all that really matters.
Winston Zedmore (that black guy), mad scientist. I know! It would result in total protonic reversal, and the world as we know could end!
p.s my girlfriend thinks i am dork for posting on letsrun. the cool thing is that i kicked her ass in o-chem.
i live on organic chemistry. i am doing organic synthesis of drug and inhibitor potents at a research lab. fun.
I was a chemist until I recently lost my job. While in school I considered myself an organic chemist. Now I am ready to get into a different field altogether...most likely real estate. Perhaps I will use my philosophy degree for something haha.
I just squeaked through Organic I as one of only two Sophs at my school to pass the class. Most brutal class ever. Course it probably didn't help that the lab instructor was an utterly clueless fool who almost had us blow up our brand new lab because he didn't know the ignition temperature of hexane.
Received "A's" in Organic Chem. II and both labs and a "B" in Organic Chem. I. A lot depends on the professor you have.
I took and passed it, and actually did pretty well. But I hated it, as everyone does and should. It's not conceptually difficult, but it's on an intellectual and spiritual par with trying to memorize an entire week's worth of TV listings. Medical schools should quit requiring this course of pre-meds and have them take biochemistry instead.
Never apologize for being smart nor for spending some of your free time as you see fit pursuing some harmless recreation. I've learned some really surprising things from posts on letsrun.com that I wouldn't have otherwise learned. Lots of fluff but sorting through it is part of the fun.
Oh and I'm in business in the real world but sometimes wish I had pursued science instead because I like solving problems (or at least trying).
I have the ability to memorize TV listings, world track and field records, and batting averages. Does this means I should major in Orgasmic Chemistry??
Who cares what you do (besides your mother).
