Who u got and why? Personally I got Xavier
Who u got and why? Personally I got Xavier
As of now, I'd go Xavier. I feel dystat underranked them by not putting them in the top five for the ny region. However, if xavier wants to win this, they need everyone on their A game. I know as of now, their 5th man has been very inconsistent and didn't even race at sectionals. They will only pull this off if he comes ready to race and is in the same form he was in at Mcquaid. As for Raslowsky, I don't think he can beat Lundy, however, I do believe he has a good shot at finishing second. If Cipri can get in that top five and xavier can have all their top 5 in the top ten, then they should win. Raslowsky also needs to be ahead of st ants number one guy and I'd say Cipri would have to beat fordhams third man. After that tho, guys 3-6 gotta come in very strong. In the case of St Ants, if they get three in before xaviers one man and three in before fordhams two man, they should be able to pull off the win. In the case of fordham, they'd need another win out of lundy and miller to be ahead of raslowsky as well as two of st ants top 3.
If we go by tullyrunnners speed ratings Xavier will win with 53 while st.anthonys has 55. I didn't bother to calculate preps team because their 5th guy isn't ranked to well at all
If you want to miss big individual meets and just be a relay man then go to Xavier. Fordham prep stay far away from. If you want your best chance at running really fast then go to St Anthony's!!!!!!
Just look at the schools history and records and it's St Anthony's all the way.
LOL last time I checked, St. Anthony's didn't produce any sub 9 two milers. Both fordham and xavier have

I believe this is XC season. Doubtful Raslowsky can beat St. A's top 3. They ran 12:34, 12:35, and 12:43 at Manhattan over a month ago. He ran 12:51 last week. They can still win even with SA's top 3 ahead of him. If they get their top 5 in before their 4th guy, X has a good shot. Rumor has it that SA's 4th fastest guy is not 100%. If that's true, Xavier can take it. If not, SA for the win; which is something they know how to do. It should be an interesting race.
Fordham has no shot with their lack of a higher level 5th guy.

Better check again.

Xavier had ONE guy EVER run sub 9min and he was a freak of nature. That guy would of ran sub 9 anyplace he went. I think he went to U of Arkansas. St Anthony's is the best program.
St Anthony 's for the win.
St Anthony 's for the win.
Good race. Friars 4-5 came through as needed. They seem to be rounding into form for Feds and a shot at qualifying for Nationals. The public schools were for the most part, unimpressive. Liverpool was good but not as solid as I'm sure they wanted to be. They have a real first rate coach so they are always a threat. I think the regionals is coming down to the same three teams as last year - Liverpool, St. Anthony's and FM. East Aurora is a bit over-rated. They're skipping feds for Nike Regionals but I think their view of themselves is over-inflated. There's a lot of over-coaching going on here.
Can you name one good public school HS coach in Nassau County, besides Syosset or Bayshore?

I've noticed this same thing. They have the talent, but never produce the results.
Bayshore is in Suffolk along with Northport and Commack which I thought were good.Arent Massapequa and Calhoun usually solid?
Yes, but Xavier is a lot closer to them then they have in previous years. If they can get some of their guys running the way they were at Manhattan/Mcquaid they could compete for a spot at nxn

Massapequa and Calhoun has 1,2 punch only with no team. Lets break it down by school and coach and you will see why Nassau is so bad. Big egos with no coaching knowledge.
stay far away from Fordham? Last time i checked, they produced national caliber relays last year like a 7:43 4x8 and 10:07 dmr... and they won outdoor cities against xavier and st. anthony's. you should probably keep your opinions to yourself because you know shit.
Where do you live? NYC? Or LI?
that's irrelevant. just look at the stats... what big names has st. anthony's produced lately? xavier fordham and chaminade have had stud athletes these past couple years... st. anthony's has had no big names

fptrackalltheway- you're a jacka*#. No one was asking about Chaminade. St Anthony's is a long way from NYC. Where he lives is a big deal. St Anthony's seems to have the best athletes year after year. However, if you're in NYC I would stay in the city.
