who is the better runner?
Hunter. How is that even a question?
Tamango ran a 14:36 at MtSAC so they might be close
no way
Drew's mom will be here soon enough to straighten this question out.
LOL. Hopefully we will find out in December, Nephew.

Yeah. And Rocha ran 14:24. They both ran it solo. Related, you guys should check out Rochas post race interview where he calls the record he didn't break soft. Arrogant as hell.

Directed just a bit of shade at Tamagno. But he is probably right about the record; get a few of those guys in the same race, and they might well take it down a bit.

Right, but Tamagno left his team to jump divisions last year and had Brandt, Webb, and Rocha to push him to his 14:23.
While Mercado, Moussa, Gedyon, and now Rocha ran their solo perfomances of 14:24/14:26 gapping the fields by double digits with their respectful teams.
And remember Tamagno and Rocha will both run the Mt. Sac course (1 more time) at CIF division finals in month!
rocha v tamagno v hunter
at FLN would be sweet but rocha is most likely competing at nxn from his interview

Actually Mercado was racing his twin Danny and the eventual Footlocker Nationals winner from that year in AJ Acosta. Dropped them the last mile by about 15 sec...
And Gedyon spent the entire race sitting on Sam Pons only to blow him away by 4 sec the last 200. Lane Werley was 3rd in 14:35 so no exactly no competition.

Hunter is better from 2 miles on up. Tomagno will beat him at 800 easily, and likely the mile this year, despite how fast Hunter ran last year. Tamagno has far better leg speed.
I think they actually have run very similar times from 400-800, so I don't think you can say that Tamagno has "far better" leg speed. Hunter has likely spent less time developing his speed though, given the way he trains with a strength focus and small amounts of faster work.

Yes they are similar at short stuff
Tamagno
400-50.89
800-1:52.33
Hunter
400-???
800-1:52.98
Hunter is faster in the mile by like 4 seconds.
