She's destroying the HS girls out in VA, but she'll be 19 in just over a month and is only a sophomore in HS? Does something seem a little amiss here?

Nothing amiss. Move along.
I thought she was older than that.
Because of her age, this is her last year of eligibility as a sophomore.
Sorry, that should have read "as a high school athlete." I'm not sure what her coach's plans are for her the next two years or how it will impact her collegiate recruiting or eligibility. Interesting situation.
That makes sense. Definitely an interesting situation. Hopefully she can catch up academically and get into a college sooner rather than later. It would be weird to be a 21 year old HS senior.
She could end up being the fastest legal HS beer miler ever. That's got to be worth something.

Exactly what would that be worth? Other than a handful of losers, who would really care about that?
Is she 19 or is she "19"?
Doesn't VA have a law that 19 is the oldest that a student can be in a traditional hs setting? I think they have a rule that students have to finish in an adult continuation/night school setting if they continue after that. Got to be tough for her being a refugee and all, maybe VA will make an exception for her education, but she shouldn't be allowed to compete any more after this year.
Her coach and family and working on options for her for next year. She does not have any more high school eligibility after this year. I think she actually has junior status as a student, not sophomore, after some of her credits from Eritrea were accepted recently. Hoping for the best for this young lady- she is a terrific girl.

Uptight much?

Even if you don't believe Ches' documented age, there are about a half dozen things that tell you he could not have been 19 as a sophomore. - Instead of trying to be cute, why don't you give some thought to what you say.

11% of U.S. high schoolers turn 19 before they graduate, therefore Weini is fine for this year and will not be competing in H.S. next year. Everything is ok.
Just an FYI- She is only 18 right now. She has a birthday in December.

Learn to pick your battles tiger!
Crap she will be a 21 year old senior in high school. I'm 17(almost 18) and a senior. She is four years older then me and in the same grade....

She also won today wearing trainers instead of spikes which makes her win even more impressive:
