LOL ... that would be the first time one of Salazar's "athletes" truly succeeded at the marathon. But the Mobot rarely runs with Salazar. He is usually somewhere else being sub-coached by someone who is not Salazar. Salazar can take all the credit, of course.

Ritz never made it to the top; face the facts; other than the first 6 months he visited the druggist from Apr-Oct/2009 (12:56/27:22/1:00.00).
THIS.
Hudson training got him to 2:10:00, and all of his shorter PRs came within weeks or months of the switch to Sally. Too bad he couldn't combine Sally's "grey area" methods with better trading by Hudson.
After the summer of 2009, Ritz has had zero PRs except taking over three years and multiple attempts to take two minutes from his marathon time. As a new marathoner there's no way it should have taken than long to crack a frankly soft 2:10 PR.
Ritz, Farah, Puskedra...which male marathon hopes will Sally let down next?

Crawl back under the disrespectful rock from which you came. Trolls fancy themselves as being clever and maybe even smart. Instead, the only skill they exhibit is an incapacity to take anything seriously. I hope by the time you graduate from high school or college--surely you're no older than a college sophomore--that you learn to take things seriously and learn to treat people, even on a message board, with a bit more respect: those are virtues, not vices.

After five years under Salazar's "marathon program" with unlimited resources, Olympic medalist training partners and "grey zone" methods, Titztwentup barely sneaks under 2:08.
Yeah, Salazar really showed some coaching ability there.
Let's not even get into how badly he failed at the distance with Farah and Puskedra.
And out come the ad hominem attacks. I was not disrespectful to you, and I'm sorry if presenting the facts disrespects Salazar.
I'll take it I've won the argument.

Luke is a "big man" for the marathon distance. His 1:01 half from college showed great potential, but 2:10 for a 6'4" runner is pretty unique and probably on par with a little 5'7" dude running 2:07.
Dumbest post ever.
Tergat is 6'1 and Duncan Kibet is 6'3. Both ran 2:04.
What is their "height-adjusted time"? 2:01?

You mean he'll successfully coach a male marathoner?
Well, there is a first time for everything.
For now, with 26/59/2:08, Farah is massive underperformer in the marathon.
28:xx/1:02 guys can run 2:08.
'for now' being the key phrase. Mo may get better. Tadesse never figured it out. Tergat debuted in 2:08. Mo ran for an appearance fee with every attention of going back to the track. He may want to fully commit and then do better but not everyone transitions as well as Kipchoge did.

Umm, Mo is an old man. He has stated he will retire in after the 2017 WCs. He will never run a real marathon based on his stated plan--5k+10k one Mo time in 2017.

Tergat is a very poor example. Firstly, 6'1" isn't remotely close to 6'4" for a marathoner and Tergat was one of the greatest ever. Five world cross country gold medals, two Olympic silver medals, 12:49, 26:27 PRs on the track. I would say 2:04 was his max potential... Get back to me when Puskedra breaks 13:00 for 5,000 and is an Olympic medal threat.
As for Kibet, if he is truly 6'3", then good for you, he is the ONE outlier in the bunch and easily holds the WR for a marathoner taller than 6'2". Unfortunately, his marathoning career lasted what, like two years max? Anyway, good find, but neither of your two examples can be ruled out as having been part of the epo era.
I am a big fan of Puskedra's. I hope he runs 2:07 and has a long career.

You hate for Alberto is blinding you .. Alberto is the man to credit for Mo being from an also ran to world class distance runner who dominated his field for the past 4-5 yrs.. Even when Mo is training overseas Alberto oversees his daily training regiments by way of Emails and what not

You gotta understand when Mo ran the 2 :8 he was not fully committed to being a Marathon he was exploring the idea while collecting a fat pay cheque.. Once he truly commits to the road I think he will Kibchoge a run for his money

Hardly.

Absolutely:
Looking back, Salazar blames his form for his decline. “The way I ran, it wasn’t sustainable,†he said. “The attitude at the time was: if you were gifted with perfect form, great. If you weren’t, you were just kind of stuck.†While a runner with an awkward stride might win a few races, Salazar argues now, he’s ultimately doomed to break down: “The knee injury, the hamstring injury—in hindsight, these were the things that killed me.â€

You aren't even making sense.
There are examples of great tall marathoners coming from a short society, like Tergat and Kibet. How does the fact Tergat was GOAT-level prove one CAN'T be tall and succeed?
Just checking in here...I didn't forget about this thread. Anybody care to defend his/her opinion against Salazar? I'll be waiting.

2:11:30ish isn't that crazy. Would be more impressed if testo wasn't applied during base phase.
Not arguing if it's a crazy time or not...looking for a defence for this argument in light of the recent reality that AlSals boy just jogged into first place.
For the record: I'm a big Puskedra fan. I had really hoped he'd at least sneak into 3rd, but I'm definitely still happy for Ward.
