Kuma has been dropped. it's down to Chumba (doing the pushing) and Kitwara. Chumba now has a bit of a gap on Kitwara too.

Can the commentators please stop talking about how track speed matters at the end of the marathon?
1:50:30 Kuma is dropped. At least we don't have to hear about how Kuma's track speed will give him the win if he's not dropped. Kitwara won the Kenyan trials one year in the 10,000 but never got to run Worlds as they kicked him off the team for running Peach tree and winning $32,000.

I want this guy to call every race. He's incredible. I'm pretty sure he's never seen a marathon before.
POD.
You did miss the geriatric reporters input on NBC which dumbed down the sport for all.
Dickson Chumba hammering!! He's the guy that faded in that last 1/2 mi in the heat at Boston in 2012, when Wesley Korir passed him. Good for him!
Kastor still on AR masters record pace at 30k

hows puskedra doing??
So sick that Puskedra is so far up there, If he doesn't blow up and finishes well I bet he gets a contract. My guess would be either Addidas or Saucony, I sort of doubt he would go back to Nike.
chumba did some damage there.
where is cabada?

Fernando Cabada update?
He was on 2;13:11 pace at 30k. But they were on 2:11 high pace at halfway and now are on 2:14 pace at 35k. That group has been slowing down a lot.

Did the elite women start at the same time as everybody else? Very little NBC coverage of the women's race as the men's wraps up.
It's stringing out, and Puskedra is firmly entrenched in sixth place right now. Can he run anyone down in the final 5k?
Chumba really killed them with this surge. Gab with Kitwara keeps getting wider and Kuma seems to be completely dying getting caught by the chasers.
Sara Hall maintaining at 2:30 pace. Seemed like she was slipping at halfway, but started to pick up again. Hope she can keep it together

He will go with whoever offers the most money and that will probably be NIKE.
so puskedra could run 2:09 or better? this is amazing. He just became our #1 or #2 guy.
if I'm right.

Yes, They always start with the men in Chicago. Universal has shown them more than NBC.
Anyone else notice that Ritz called Chumba's decisive move right as it was happening? He might have a future as a color man.
Puskedra looks like he's moving up.
Win?

It's funny because I asked Puskedra that maybe the one knock on Salazar as a coach is he's never had a great marathoner. Salazar dumps Luke and and is on pace to run what a 15 minute pb (He ran 2:28:54 for Salazar) ?
Of course, Salazar fans would say that he doesn't care about producing a2:11-12 runner. He was trying to make him internationally competitive.
I think I taped that portion of the interview here:
