I don't know how many times this needs to be said: Liberals (at least most of them) don't want to end gun ownership. If you want a firearm to hunt or to keep next to your bed in case the boogie man comes in the night, fine. But you should have to have a background check before you buy your man destroyer, you don't need an assault weapon capable of vaporizing a hippo in order to protect yourself, and you don't need to be buying guns in bulk. The only legitimate reason to oppose common sense gun control measures is if you work for a gun manufacturer/vendor and want to make more money. The rest of you are just suckers.

FYI there is not a single rifle in the hands of an American Citizen capable of "vaporizing a hippo." You libtards have zero ability to make a arguement and that is why no one takes libtards seriously.

The most common semi auto rifle in America, the AR15, shoots a varmint cartridge (5.56/.223). This rifle is rarely used in gun crimes. More people in America are killed with hands, feet, bats, and knives than with an AR15. Handguns represent a majority of gun related homocide. Our homocide rate by gun per 300,000,000 people is very low (less than 30,000 a yr). Remove suicide and accidental shooting it is probably less than 10k +\- a year. Of those 10k +\- a year many are criminal (drug dealers et al) killed off my other criminals. Nothing you libtards argue is going to convince a population of 300,000,000 that they need to surrender their gun rights because of criminals or idiots with a gun.

Gun manufacturing and Vendors are, like all business in America, interested in turning profits. It is called "Capitalism" you leftist communist POS. Thanks to the current POTUS the Gun Industry is making more profit now than at any other time in American History.

The U.S. Military used to field man killing rounds such s the .30-06. We still have 7.62/.308 for front line combat units who actually engage the enemy.

The 5.56 is an enemic rifle round that must fragment or make a CNS hit to do any significant damage. It is logistically a good military round because a soldier can carry a lot of it (it is small and light) and it is easier to shoot than larger more powerful cartridges. Same goes for 9mm, small and light, easy to shoot and to carry. Logistically these cartridges (5.56/9mm) make sense, ballistically they are on the weak end of the cartridge spectrum.
