So this past weekend, I ran in a pretty big meet. I came in at the clock at 17:56 but my watch had me timed for a 5k at 17:34. It read about 3.19, an extra .09 miles. This was the case for not only me, but also several other runners I talked to after the race. 17:34 would be an all time PR, whereas 17:56 would match my PR. How should I view this? Should I count it as a PR? Or should I just use it as a confidence builder?
