I'm working on the weekly recap and was re-reading the thyroid articles from last week. In Sara Germano's Wall Street Journal, there was a real nugget:

One prominent example he cited is a practice seen with some regularity in German athletes, in which they infuse ozone into the rectum for the perceived benefit of improving their oxygen intake.
“It was brought up to our technology department, they come to us and say, ‘What is your opinion on this?’ We had a good laugh, because frankly it doesn’t work,†he said..
Thank goodness, I only have a lot of German ancestry and didn't actually compete there as an athelte.
