Hey guys, my mom is 48. and lately the last couple months she's been getting back into running. i would say she has some talent, about 8 years ago she ran 27:20~ for a 5k on about 10mpw. now she's running 4x a week and just did a long run of 5 miles, most of her runs are 9-10minute pace.
personally if i train her a bit i think she could break 26. i noticed she has a very short stride, so i might get her to do some strides and strength training stuff so she can lengthen it a bit.
i know this is a weird thing to post but i thought it would be funny to have a training thread about someone's mom lol.
give any advice you'd like, i'm guessing she runs about 15-18 MPW right now and she does some biking.
she was a softball player back in HS so she has some athletic background, but obviously that doesn't matter a ton anymore.
