Wow I can't believe it is not sold out. I figured it would sell out the first week.
We're only talking about 7000 seats for 4 days. In Portland. There are probably that many Nike employees in Portland.
Forget about the NOP investigation or USATF's ineptness, this shows how unpopular track and field is in the USA and maybe some track fatigue in Oregon. Portland Timbers get 21,144 a game in Portland for MLS soccer.
It's time our sport stopped putting on boring track meets. You have to entertain people with not just the competition and most track meets don't do that so casual sport fans are reluctant to go.
I just looked at the tickets. They are only selling all-session packages:

Super casual fans likely won't pay $225 to get in the door. They'll sell out eventually. They probably do the all-session way to make sure tickets are sold for the day 1 sessions with prelims.
Lower Bowl — chair backs — $385
Straightaway — bleachers — $295
Turn — bleachers — $225
Looks like the good seats are gone. For $385 for the best seat, $225 for a poor seat doesn't seem as good a deal so people are waiting.

The stock show and rodeo in Ft. Worth where I live gets a million people over 26 days. They have a 5800 seat rodeo arena and I'd love to know how many people they get per day. Weekends they have 2 rodeos a day.
