Unexpected baby and I can't say I wouldn't keep the baby in those circumstances either. Congrats to her.

Wait, you're saying you would abort a pregnancy because it interfered with the possibility of making an Olympic team? I just want to clarify whether or not you're actually saying that, or if that's what I'm reading into your statement.
Good for the both of you. Good looks will be in the genes.
There's a reason people go on birth control...because they don't want to get pregnant. IUD pregnancies come with potentially big risks and dangers and people do get abortions with IUD babies.

So will running ability. If "Beta" is a boy, will he be the first third generation sub-4?
seriously a girl on my team did this like 3 times
A sweet announcement. Best of luck to Sarah in trying to maintain her fitness through this but you can bet she won't make any compromises with the child's health.
Didn't she know sex leads too babies? A BC that's 99% effective means 1 out of a hundred times she's going to get prego!

I really don't think its that simple.
That's only 1 out of 100 times if they do it every time she is ovulating. You can have sex without birth control 100 times and not get pregnant once depending on when during her cycle it is.

Who is "Sarah Brown" exactly? some some tier elite wannabe.
Seriously, who do people feel the need to announce personal crap in videos on the internet. out side of your family and a few friends...no one cares.
Troll? Go back into your hole, buddy, if you truly don't know who Sarah Bowman-Brown is!

You don't think many Olympic athletes ever had an abortion in order to compete in said Olympics?

the effective rate is a sampling of 100 women, not a percentage for one woman. It means that of 100 women using a specific type of birth control, 1 of them will get pregnant within the next year. Regardless of when they have sex, or how many times they have sex. Its misleading, it doesn't say that a method of birth control prevents pregnancy 99% of the time, it just says that of 100 women, 99 will not be pregnant in a year.
Could she be not telling the truth? Could this be the second coming of Suzy? Hum.....
Not sure what she is doing, but the pill is 100% effective. If you get pregnant, there is a 100% chance of user error. Simple as that. E.g.:
- forgetting to take the pill
- taking the pill and vomiting 5min later
There is not 1 single documented case where a women got pregnant while taking the pill consistently and on time.

Seriously.
"I'm going to be sick" is incredibly naive.
People have abortions to go to law school, medical school, new jobs and even weddings without being pregnant or having a kid. Of course they do so as not to interfere with elite athletic careers they have staked their lives on.
"However, sometimes life has bigger challenges and blessings in store for us. God humbly reminded me that He has plans for my life … and they are good plans."
BARF.

In case you didn't know, the birth control pill is awful for performance. It often results in weight gain, etc.
Congrats to Sarah. Does anyone know when the baby is due? She sounds like she still wants to try at the Trials. How much time will she have to get ready.

Never mind. I watched the video and took a more detailed look at the website.
March 21, 2016 is the due date.
I loved the video and thought it was well done.
It makes me really angry to hear anyone say that she should have had an abortion. As a woman, it is incredibly difficult to balance ambition with a family life, and even more difficult in professional athletics, particularly track and field. As a man, it is comparatively easy to choose to 'have it all'- both have a child and a career. What you are failing to realize by only focusing on the impact that pregnancy will have on her track and field career is the impact that having an abortion might have on her, her relationship and her future. I'm not saying the 'right' choice was to have the child, but clearly it was for her. The bottom line is that the moment she got pregnant, her life changed in a major way, whether she chose to have the baby or not, as either choice has major implications. Please don't pretend this has an easy or right answer, especially if you are a man.

Then there is no reason to be angry because no one said she have had an abortion.
It was just said that others have chosen that and someone said they weren't sure what choice they would make.
No one is advising this for others.
