I am 36 but I still have a Yahoo! email address that I use for things like online purchases, logins, etc. I don't have it synced to my phone, but probably check it like once a week. I just kept it as something that would outlast my work email addresses, etc. I figured it would always be there. I actually opened it up before Gmail was ubiquitous.
I had a Gmail address for a while, but when Google started getting all weird about trying to link Gmail to Google+ and search histories and everything, I just took it down. I didn't like how it started logging me into YouTube automatically and forcing me into Google+. I just found that I didn't need the account and deleted it.
I agree 100% about Yahoo! trying to make their email pointlessly pretty when it was simple and functional before. For a while I just kept switching back to "classic view" but that is no longer an option. I can't complain too much since I only look at it once a week, but still.
