Nope. When you get this many people who are used to being #1, they end up running each other into the ground throughout the season. I'd be surprised to see them finish in the top 10.
Who do they have and why is everybody so excited about them? Just because they're different from the usual contenders?
90% of the team is British age cheats...a lot easier to beat 18-22 yr olds when you have a team full of quasi professional runners.
What are the ages and PRs of the top 5 or 6?

Seeing as how the best argument that has been raised in support of "no, they can't" is: "they have too many fast women." I'm going out on a limb and say they've got a good shot to move up from last season's finish.
Yeah, maybe, I guess. But no one cares. Certain programs perpetually import their "talent". Maybe fans in those other countries care?
Call me a noob but who are the Lady Lobos?
God I hope not....Franklins prick ass thinks very highly of himself. IF and I mean IF he was this great coach then why in the hell cant he recruit the best USA athletes? He can't that's why he has to go to other countries.....he can't coach that well too! Please list the athletes that he has recruited that have had a significant improvement. You can't. He recruits from other countries and gets great athletes...then doesn't get them any better. The man is a joke!
To make it even better the coaches voted his ass into the coaches association DI board of directors. He has done nothing but weasel his way into a position to try to get Sam Seams out as CEO of the USTFCCCA. Trust me his big ass mouth can shut up and has been overheard telling other coached he can't wait to get him removed.

In what way are these British athletes \"age cheats\". They\'re clearly using their legal date of birth.
Ok, this entire thread seems to be about people who are jealous of Joe Franklin, his transfers, and his team. Basically, Joe has worked hard and recruited (actually spent more money on Americans to be honest in recruiting), yet the one\'s who are there are the one\'s who want to be there in Albuquerque.
This women\'s team has a great attitude, they all work together, this reminds me of the Arkansas men\'s teams 1990-1994 (5 straight titles), when they had 3 in the top 10 in 91 and 93. Those Razorbacks did not know who the top guy would be and just missed the individual title in both 91 and 93 as they had teammates go 2-3 both years. In all 5 years they had 3-4 in top 20, this is what the Lady Lobos will do and it will shock people, they are so freaking good!
This about Oregon\'s men\'s team in 2014-15 with 9 track qualifiers and yet they could not win Cross with 1-2 team. The Lobos will be different in that they have 6-7 (there is the big 4 and then 3 pretty good potential All Americans).
Jealousy is the reason this thread even exists. Joe has the lowest budget of any school ranked in the top 25 and he coaches both genders. To have a top 10 team is amazing to have the top team in the ranking currently is as the British say \"Quite Brilliant\"!
Correction on stats, Arkansas men won 11 Cross Titles in 17 years - 1984, 1986, 1987, 1990, 1991, 1992, 1993, 1995, 1998, 1999, 2000. So it was 90-95, 5 out of six, nobody has ever dominated Cross Country this way for this long. This is what Joe Franklin wants to build!
Um excuse me I believe it's
lobos que se identifican como mujeres
not 'Lady Lobos'
I just wonder why Auckland wants to come into the NCAA system? She seemed to have a lot if success they way things were going before. Is it all so she can get a sponsorship after school?
You can't tell me these ladies really care all that much about winning a team NCAA title, they all just met. You look at the schools that have won recently like Michigan, providence and Villanova, those women trained for years together with that goal. Some of these women at New Mexico probably don't even really get it (they called it "winning the gold medal at the NCAAs" in the video)

I agree. Those teams all trained together for years and knew their places. Rhona, Courtney, and Alice/Calli are all used to being right up at the top and being the big dog... Not the case anymore. This is going to stress the hell out of them and they will be doing all they can to drop each other at practice. I've seen it before, and the same thing will happen here.
Jealous indeed. Jealous of bringing in older, more established runners. It's pretty much a no-brainer if you can do it. F the domestic kids.
Oregon and New Mexico will finish 1-2 at NCAA's I hope Oregon can win it but they might not be able to New Mexico is loaded. If Jessica Hull is as good as advertised and Sarah Baxter can regain her high school form Oregon will be tough to beat with Grabill,Neer and Oregon 5th which could be any number of like 7 other lady Ducks. Oregon has way more depth then New Mexico but 1-4 the slight edge goes to New Mexico. All depends on if Oregon 5th can beat out New Mexico 5th. Oregon won NCAA's the last time it was in Kentucky 2012? I believe GO DUCKS BABY YEAHHHHH

Slight edge for 1-4? New Mexico's #4 finished 6th at nationals in the 5K and has run 15:40's five times last season.
