5/10 - Made a point and cited a source before disparaging it.
It's up to the pace that gets set and somebody else's willingness to follow that pace. He's going to run with the pack. Many guys here are trying to win the Diamond League points race and they will want to run their ideal races as a priority. If one of them is a strength runner, then you might see one go with a pacer. Rupp only breaks 12:53 if other runners break 12:50, which I don't see happening.
Rupp will run 13:01-13:09. His sub 13 was a one-off.
He's run a 3:50 mile and a 7:30 3000, along with 26:44 in the 10k. Anyone with common sense would acknowledge he's capable of low 12:50's on the right day.
