I have both and bought the Glide for the same purpose - a cushy, easy day shoe. They have cushion, but not the kind of feel I was looking for - they feel mushy and heavy; just really unresponsive. My foot is on the narrow end, so the Boston fits me very well, while I feel like I swimming in the Glide's toebox widthwise after a while.
I agree with raggert - go with the energy 1 if you're looking for a softer feel than the Boston. Stay away from the ESM, imo. I made the mistake of trying them and do not recommend them at all. The plastic eyelet piece near the top of the shoe dug into my foot after a few miles, despite trying a few approaches to alleviate it.
For my easy days I'll use Boston's on smooth grass or the artificial grass infield on the track. It's worked well for a while now. Good luck!
