HS soph running 32-35mpw for the last two weeks, before that about 45mpw summer base with weekly tempos of 3-4 miles at 6:20-6:25 pace, easy runs at 7:15-7:30. Last pretty hard workout was yesterday, 1600-1200-800-400-200 at 5:30, 4:17, 2:38, 73, 30. Track PRs are 2:12 800m, 5:19 1600m, 12:04 3200m. But that was last season and I feel in much better shape now.
The race is on a mostly flat course with a long, very slight uphill section and another part going down the same hill in the opposite direction towards the finish. It will likely be pretty fast because of that downhill in the last half mile or so. This will also be a fairly crowded race with about 200 people. Weather will most likely be 90+ degrees and sunny with little shade, far from ideal.
