I've been looking for the same thing after years of running trails in regular running shoes. I currently have the Saucony Peregrine 5. It's a good shoe overall w/ great traction, decent cushioning, a nice rock plate and nimble feel. It's too wide in the forefoot though. I've cranked the lacing down to the point where it interferes w/ the normal toe off flex, but it still doesn't prevent my foot from sliding around. They're still good for shorter outings, but anything over an hour and my foot feels hot from sliding around. I'm thinking of biting the bullet and trying a salomon shoe. They're pricey, but seem to fit the bill. That said, the Pearl Izumi shoe gets good reviews and might be worth a try:
