1.) So every Monday our coach has us do 6x100m all-out hill sprints on a 7% grade hill with a walk down recovery. This workout causes myself and the other top runners on the team to run slowly as it normally takes 1-2 days of easy running just to get feeling normal again, postponing workouts in the meantime.
2.) I've thought of some reasons as to why this happens:
A.) Our warmup. We do a lap around the track, some dynamic drills, and go drive down to the hill and start.
B.) We have no buildup. I've done some research and this workout has no buildup with it being right off a 10min van ride. This could be dangerous as the repeats are all-out and injury risk is high but we've all came out fine minus the strange fatigue.
3.) Any advice or recommendations are very much appreciated.
