After a very consistent summer that had no speed bumps (injury or vacations that would make it hard to run) up until now, I am curious what I should do regarding training on a 7 night Caribbean cruise.
This is the only vacation we have taken that makes it difficult in my mind to get in optimal training, but we are going on a ship with a mondo track that is 2.4 laps to the mile and a gym stocked with treadmills. I am definitely focusing on enjoying the time with my family but I would still like to maintain 55 mpw and wanted to hear some ideas on how I should do workouts, treadmill or track. The track turns are somewhat tight and I know treadmills are not ideal.
The workouts I had in mind were a fartlek session and a 4 mile tempo. My first meet is on the 5th and I get back this upcoming Sunday. So although I will have a week of training back with the team, I don't want to have an awful training week and set myself back after having a great Summer of Malmo.
Any advice is welcome! Thank you in advance.
