Guess who gets to be the rabbit?
I think Ayana can beat her, provided the pace is fast enough.

A good shot of adrenaline before the race should do it
the only runner capable of a WR in the final will be Ayana
If Dibaba concentrates on setting a world record, she will lose to Ayana, and maybe to Mercy Cherono

Garbage
In speed skating, there are no prelim rounds of heats etc.
Eric Heiden won 500, 1000, 1500, 5000 and 10000m in one Olympics.
Emil Zatopek won 5000, 10000 and Marathon in one Olympics.
I'm not sure if the 10k had a qualifying heat back then.
Hypothetical, without rounds, could Dibaba win 800, 1500, 5000, 10000 and marathon (if last event) in one olympic Games/WC? I have no idea if she can steeple.
She closed in 1:57 in that weather. She ran 3:50 in Monaco with 1st 8 in 2:04, last 8 in 2:00-1. She's fully capable of a 5000m WR with no pacers. But surely not in that weather. After all, she fell off the pace in much cooler weather in Oslo after the pacers were out.
Her behavior after her 1500 victory, it does not seem she expended much energy. She will be tough to beat in the 5k.
Impressive, considering the 5000m WR is already considered one of the STRONGER WR's. 14:11 is the equivalent of a 29:27 10,000m or 8:04 3,000m, both faster than Wang Junxia's WR on those two distances.
It is only a matter of time when Dibaba will break the 3,000/10,000m WR, too.

...And then Finland wouldn't let him run the 10,000m so he ran it simultaneously on the track next door faster than the winning time
It wouldn't surprise me. Ayana knows that she can't outkick dibaba but she can possibly outrun her. So don't be surprised if it happens
1. Dibaba
2. Ayana
3. Cherono
genzebe certainly has the talent to do it,but i think the heat, and humidity will get to her.ayana is a bold front runner,so she'll go as hard as she can go.genzebe can outkick her,but whether or not she can keep with her is another thing.if both run hard, itll be a cracker of a race, but because of the heat,i cant see either of them breaking 14.25.
She is 2 levels above everyone else. After decades of talent coming through the world scene she somehow is so much better than everyone else. The only other group of runners to be like that were the Chinese. We all know they were doped.
So why aren't we asking questions and prodding on this woman? She is making a mockery of the sport. 1:56 last 800 in a 1500m race when pure 800m runners are struggling to reach that time in just an 800m run.....
Come on people. She is doped. Her reasoning is the rainy season was stopped her from being this good in the past. Really?
There's a forecast for some thunder showers, nature's air conditioner. If that happens and the temp drops, it could be magical.
Dibaba is in peak shape, and her previous races were practically tempo pace for her aside from the kicks. It's all a warm-up for this. I'll just be happy if she beats her sister's championship record of 14:38, cuz then I get triple points in the fantasy league competition!
But aside from Dibaba pulling up with injury, under no circumstance do I see her letting Ayana get away from her. Not a chance. After 3200, she'll stick to her like glue and depending on the pace, take off when it's time, and make the others look like they're standing still.
------
So do other sports, like soccer/football/baseball/basketball etc., have a bunch of killjoys who show up to games and message boards and can't shut the f**k up about doping? What would be the point? Either enjoy the races or go away and p**s off, man!
Yeah I highly doubt that's gonna happen without a rabbit. This is the world championships...she's the one to beat, not to pace.
