Dew point 65, high but not terrible.
...so why were most of the non-African 5000 women running like donkeys?

Because they are donkeys compared to the Africans. Women's distance running is weak in non African countries except for Huddle and 1-2 others

Happy to say I was wrong.
Souleiman had some kind of heavy strapping on his one calf, slowed up and went backwards through the pack, started limping, then limped to the outer lanes and went down. He was grabbing onto his calf.
Really, he was running right next to Kiprop, gritting his teeth and working hard, and I suspect he looked over, saw how easy and effortless Kiprop looked, and it crushed his soul; immediately killing his will to compete.
Or ... he could have just tore/badly strained something. One of those two.
Another poor showing from the US team. Brittney Reese doesn't make the final.
Jenneke is hot..that is all
rofl, 'All eyes on Dawn Harper'. really? really? as Michelle Jeneke is dancing around. rofl.
YES! JENNEKE QUALIFIES BY A BREAST ERR UMMM CHEST!
Heat index chart
http://www.nws.noaa.gov/os/heat/heat_index.shtml
"Since heat index values were devised for shady, light wind conditions, exposure to full sunshine can increase heat index values by up to 15°F. Also, strong winds, particularly with very hot, dry air, can be extremely hazardous."
Almaz Ayana sure looked comfortable in the heat.
I would love to see her set a fast pace all the way in the final.

It looks like Robby will get in as a time qualifier, but this kid scares me with his dumb race tactics. Multiple opportunities to move to the outside before the last 200 and he took none of those chances. Somebody better talk to him about running smart before the semis or they might as well take him out of the startlist now.
So we've ripped him for running in last and then having to go wide. Today he was right with the pack, in the middle on the rail, saving ground (When did Alan Webb EVER learn how to do that) and you rip him again?
The race ALWAYS opens up. Yes, today it didn't. I don't think I've ever seen it be like that for the final 100. But he still advances.
Great job USA men.

The conditions are the same for everyone... so not a valid excuse. Jet lag would be a better one.

Sorry, didn't read the whole thread and the whole situation. Hope they are ok if they were medically exhausted.
You just sometimes just get tired of hearing "Oh it was too hot", when everyone runs in the same weather.
Kiprop is so nasty.
Feel bad for Soulieman. Had to pull up with a lap to go.
Kiprop jogged that race in 3:39
