I am curious, what tribe is Yego? I'm almost positive he's not Kalenjin and I don't think he is Masai.
Was he like Rudisha, starting in the decathlon then specializing or did he just watch javelin and decide to give it a go?

I wish they had a throwing "all around" at the WC, separate from each individual event.
Discus, javelin, shot, hammer, and weight throw (or skip the weight throw) all in one day - 3 attempts (or 2) per event. Add up the distances, or average the athletes finish positions in each event.

Yego is actually Kalenjin from the Rift Valley but built like a Luhya or Luo from Western Kenya. Also, he's rather short for a spear-chucker which makes his accomplishments that much more special.
Really! Now that's surprising to hear he's Kalenjin. He breaks the mold even more than I suspected!
Apparently he and the Egyptian, El Sayed, both train under the same Finnish coach.
