Argh doing horribly
Argh doing horribly
thank you I missed this thread
Am I missing something on the scoring? 1 point for any pick that lands in the top 3, but no extra for actually getting them right?
So for example, Dibaba-Hassan-Simpson in the W1500 would be worth the same (5 points) as Dibaba-Simpson-Hassan?
Seems kinda silly, no?
yeah it should be
1 point for everyone you correctly place in the top 3
1 point for everyone you correctly place in the top 2
2 points bonus for the winner
2 points bonus for perfect card
The current way it is set up picking the order between 3 and 2 doesn't matter if it isn't the difference between a perfect and imperfect card. I don't think it is that big of a deal though.
How about 3 for 1st, 2 for 2nd 1 for 3rd. Pretty simple. If there's a bonus point for getting all 3 right, fine.
Doesn't make any sense to get points for picking someone 1st and having them finish 3rd.
That's way worse than what is in place right now. Wejo has thought about this much longer than you have. Your method can really screw people who get nearly the correct answer. For example
player one chooses the following: 1. second, 2. third, 3. fourth, ... they score 0 points in your method, 2 points in the Wejo method, 3 points in my method
player two chooses the following: 1. last, 2. second, 3. eighth, ... they score 2 points using your method, 1 point in the Wejo method, 2 points in the method I proposed.
I think player one has the way better card, but your method gives them 0!
Picking three things wrong is not better than two wrong and one right.
Also, assuming the brosjo have thought anything through is sketchy at best. See my original example.
wejo,
I think there are some errors in the calculation application. When I check my score, the main screen says:
"Welcome USERNAME, you have 20 points and are in 617th out of 1079"
But when I click on my name, it says I have 29 points.

That's because the latter has been updated and the former hasn't. Be patient.

I assumed that everything would be linked together, but I forgot we're dealing with Letsrun technology from 1997.
pick the winner- excellent job
pick a medalist- good job
pick them in order - it's a little extra since you have been rewarded for each pick already
this system actually revolves around the idea that your task is picking the winner

Congrats to stanmore who predicted the final event the 4x400 perfectly to snatch the unofficial win from romado33
Thanks for the contest, BroJos, it looked like PBurke was running away with it, but congrats to stanmore for his late comeback to take it all!
In the "if only" category, if it wasn't for the U.S. 4 x 100 DQ or my "Go-against the grain, 1 in a million" pick of Gay over Bolt in the 200, victory would have been mine...
Thanks in advance for the prizes!
