I try to go run / bike really hard and get it all out, or i sit in my room with music on and just try to talk to myself about relaxing and that all will be okay. What are some approaches to achieve the goal of becoming self aware, at peace, and feeling of being in control?

Just sit, close your eyes, and focus on your breathing. Other shit will pop up. Take it all, one at a time. You'll be alright. You get good at breathing, you can get good at anything.

First thing to do each morning, is go for a 20 minute walk, and think positive thoughts, think about your goal for the week, month, day, and chase any negative thoughts away.
use the techniques in that book. helped a friend of mine turn their life around.
i then took a girlfriend with similar issues, to his affordable seminars. guy is a genius.
the book is shorted than it looks, you can read it in 2-3 hours.

I used to laugh at people who would quote the scriptures. I chalked up their faith to some combination of ignorance, wishful thinking, and cowardice.
