Based on what I am seeing, I wouldn't be shocked if we saw a new WR.
What say you?

I say no. They are wasting their energy in the heats.
I assume you mean in the final. I'm going to have to say no, probably another case of everyone blowing their load in the semis again. Would be impressed if the final was won in a time faster than the semi.
What is the min amount of recovery time needed for these level of athletes to run 100% again?
I don't think the heats have ever been this fast before. It is unbelievable what they are doing and so many of them are doing this, running times that usually would be good enough to medal or even win gold in the first heats, that a special time is on tap, not a world record, but mid 43s at least. Why is this happening? There has got to be some major doping going on for all these guys to suddenly come out of the woodwork, over and above Merritt (already a doping suspension), James, and Santos (a former medalist).
Naah, I think Marita's safe for now.

No argument there.
Just looking at men's.
I just don't understand how they can be going this fast only to qualify. Ridiculous.
Did you notice McDonald, the Jamaican. He ran 43.93 yesterday and today he ran one second slower and will not be in the final... Why run sub 44 in the first round?
IGF-1 lr3 ..............
Still an endurance ,lactate, recovery
strengh issue that this peptide wont help
with so if not doping or as conditioned as others then run second slower .
Track ,conditions fast but not super fast
why so many low 44's in a non epo era or chronic steroid era .
This peptide is why and all athletes know it
and that many more on it ,so have to go all out just to final.
just look at mens 200m coming up .
many igf-1 dopers there .
The taller the athlete the more of benefit
it can be.
the fast prelim times just show that 400 is a "sweet-spot" event
if relaxed, excellent weather & obviously top shape, if they hit their "perfect" 100/200/300 splits
( whatever they maybe for an individual )
they can run an incredible 400
200 is also the same
this 400 re-writing is not unique :
butch went from ~ 44-flat to 43.29 when "nailing" perfect race back in '88
44-flat is no longer the barrier it was cracked up to be :
imo, it's mathematical value compared to other distances for 44.00 is
9.875
19.75
1'42.00
3'28.25
the 400 depth is just catching up with other sprints, as 9.875 basic is expected of 1/2 dozen guys/y & there have been helluva of faster than 19.75 guys past decade
the 800 & 1500 depth is lacking compared to sprints at present :
shoud be close to 1/2 dozen guys/y at this level if those events were as fully developed as sprints in depth-terms
Actually there is a women that has run the 400 faster than Marita Koch, though it does not count as the World Record, Koch ran 47.60 but Caitlyn Jenner ran 47.51, but Jenner (Bruce at the time) identified as a man back then, maybe one of the current 44 second 400 runners when they are no longer competitive can identify as a woman to prolong his/her career like Dr. Renee Richards did in tennis, then all the women's World Records would tumble.
Depth are ya joking me.
steroids never offered this depth
Only one place this depth coming from
Single best peptide to hit sport thus far.
better than epo .
And this depth in 200m is producing
16 year old kids from japan that can run 20.32 .
Where have all these japanese kids like him and kiryu before been.
Like butch wasnt doped to gills
and first of the epo era sprinters.
speed endurance like that .......natural.
Sprints never been this dirty but it is the longer distances that need to look at.
iaaf and seb coe are a joke....
you are completely clueless
how inept are you ???
why didn't the drugs allow the jamaican to follow up 43.9 with a 43.7 or even 43.5 ???
he faded to 44-high
as for butch, that doping was nonsense
he ran ~ 44-flat in '88 then 43.29
why the hell didn't the drugs already get bim to run 43.29 earlier in season ???
Because, as aduck2022 so eloquently put it, this stuff does not help with recovery, lactate clearance, endurance, strength. Therefore, if the athlete lacks enough conditioning, he can't rise to the same heights 24h later.
My impression is that it increases neuromuscular efficiency, turnover, and the capacity to extract the most out of your levers (thus the taller the better).
I'm sure mr duck2022 will correct me if I am wrong. I would like to know more about how this stuff works.
what??
How can you claim that of a peptide?
are you claiming this stuff is taken as a pre workout or thats its general affect!?
I dont think Kirani is there this year for the WR, though he does look easy so i wouldnt rule out a 43.4
id have said no.No world record. itll be a dual between kirani james, the south african, the botswanan, and the saudi guy,who has come from nowhere.I wouldnt count out the dominican republic guy,as well.I think kirani james will win it,in about 43.8.
