Really? If you can't medal, quit?
79 for the first lap.
I know she has the individual LJ coming up but give me a break. Either drop out or keep trying.

And the 2nd lap is finally over - 2:50.76...
Her PB is 2:07.
I want to be clear. I have sympathy for how she must be feeling after the LJ debacle. That's got to be devastating to such a young and talented athlete but either a) Keep giving it your all or b) drop out.
Running 2:50 is making a mockery of the competition. Who would advise her to do that?
She's pulling a makloufi!!
The Brits not even calling her out on it!!!!!
I saw her 3rd attempt in the long jump, She jump over 6.90m, but it was called foul, so she argued with the officials because she tought it was legal. It was a very close call if you see the replay.
Probably after that she decided not to give an honest effort in the 800m.
Meanwhile, it's stupid to jog like that. 2:50? Give me a break.
She HAS to complete the heptathlon so she is able to do the long jump in a few days. Its the rules!
You ran a 2:50 in Moscow a couple years ago I recall.

Far from it. They are praising her. Check this tweet out:
British Athletics @BritAthletics 7m7 minutes ago
In the women's heptathlon, @JohnsonThompson brings her campaign to a close in the 800m. A brave effort from the 22 year old #Beijiing2015
Brave? How can anyone call that brave? She couldn't pull out as she'd be DQd for the LJ so she jogged it.
This is how close her LJ foul was. Agonizing.

Really, really strange, Steve Cram didn't say anything about it.
This threads headline is very hard on KJT. She said in interview after the 800 that it was the last place she wanted to be but was forced to by the rules regarding injuries and dropping out of one event then doing another later. You need the BBC feed!

She has to complete the first event in order to start the second.
Yes that's close but it's a clear foul, I would imagine was fairly easy to tell with the eye. I've seen many much closer. Also probably easier said than done but after scratch the first one, just do a safe jump to get on the board then swing for the fences on jump 3.

He's too busy enjoying the climax now with Jessica Ennis
Lost all respect for KJT for not trying, should have been booed off the track. BBC feed is poor in not condemning her poor sportsmanship. Glad Jess won.

There is a stupid rule, that she has to finish the heptathlon, or she can't start the individual long jump
I assume its rule 142 but the wording is a bit vague:
"Failure to Participate
4. At all competitions under Rules 1.1(a), (b), (c) and (f), except as
provided below, an athlete shall be excluded from participation in all
further events (including other events in which he is simultaneously
participating) in the competition, including relays, in cases where:
(a) a final confirmation was given that the athlete would start in an
event but then failed to participate;
Note: A fixed time for the final confirmation of participation
shall be published in advance.
(b) an athlete qualified in a preliminary round of an event for further
participation in that event but then failed to participate further;
(c) an athlete failed to compete honestly with bona fide effort. The
relevant Referee will decide on this and the corresponding
reference must be made in the official results.
Note: The situation foreseen in Rule 142.4(c) will not apply to
individual"

This is pathetic, rojo. Be less ignorant, please. She was forced to run by the rules.
Really annoying how the owner of this site posts the dumbest shit sometimes. Should really post anonymously. I guess it's the attention whoring mentality that makes him do this.
