I have noticed that GPS watches are beggining to become the norm in the running world based off of real life experience and things posted on this board.
Personally I dislike GPS watches and see no need for them. Having the distance data available to you shouldn't help much as most should know more or less how far they have gone based off of time and/or landmarks. Instaneous pace is also not helpful as people should not be checking their watches frequently enough for it to matter. Total pace is also useless if you can judge distance by the time that you have spent running. If you need to do a measured effort, than run to a track or other area where you know the distances.
