Does anyone have any news on Sarah Baxter? Now that Nikki Hiltz is not on the team, how do you think Oregon women will perform this xc season?

I think they'll do okay, but XC always seems like base training for track at Oregon. Colorado seems to use track to prepare for XC.
Was Hiltz a top 5 runner in XC?
It's been nearly two years at a point when teen phenoms typically flame out. Doesn't look good... at all.
Baxter lost what one race in her High School Career I think she will do just fine for Oregon this year. Hopefully she is 100 percent healthy and ready to lead the Oregon Women to a podium finish. GO DUCKS

But mysteriously disappeared after she was tied for one...oh, that's right, she got hurt...
While an amazing XC runner, her high school 3200 PR is 10:06.74. Now, that's nothing to sneeze at, but would have probably gotten her 3rd at this year's CA state meet behind Destiny Collins and Fiona O'Keeffe. She benefited from running track in some of the "softer" years in recent CA history.
Hopefully she's back at full strength and ready to do some great XC running this fall.

She's built for the marathon. Doesn't have the speed of a proper track runner. Hopefully she'll be healthy soon.

Oregon picked up Australian Jessica Hull who ran 9:08 for 7th in the 3K at World juniors in 2014

Hopefully she fares better than Peipot and Franzmair
Or, more to the point, than Ovett's son.

Franzmair ran a 1:46 split on their NCAA indoor Championships winning DMR as a true freshman last year then showed his range running a 3:42 for 1500 outdoors. That's a sub 4 mile equivalent as a frosh. Pepiot was a steeplechase All-American in 2014 for the Ducks, placing 6th at NC's.
I think Franzmair is doin' ok. Pepiot didn't have quite the 2015 as he did in 2014 but show me an athlete who doesn't have an off year in the course of a carreer. Final word.... he earned All-American honors on the track and contributed to a National Championship team title for Oregon. Better resume right there than 99.9% of college runners.
Jessica Hull also recently won the Australian XC champs, in fine form at the moment! Should be a top 5 runner for the ducks.

Lets hope she makes the starting 7 vs putting her on podium to early.Collegiate racing is different than high school, life in college is different then living at home...

I wouldn't call them softer years, they were some of the fastest years on record. Just that the past couple of years have been strongest ever.
Baxter's times are some of the fastest ever run on XC courses (doesn't she hold mt SAC and State Champs record?) her 3200m times were definitely fast but she's definitely built for the 10k/marathon.
definitely.

The Oregon Women might be better then the Oregon men that wasn't happened for a while. GO DUCKS
In case you missed it, Sarah Baxter had her debut with Oregon at the Dillinger Invitational. Not spectacular but sold #6 runner. Looking forward to what she can do this season.
