Ran a 400m time trial today. Fought through the pain, crossed the line, hit my watch. Looked down...too see the time was just starting.

Stress fractures
In general, having the energy and the will to get faster but being held back by injuries

Did an 800-600-400-200 ladder tonight. The 400 and 200 hurt pretty bad.
Then it hit me that the elites run a marathon at a faster average pace than I ran for my intervals.
Simply depressing.
People are paid to do it.

800 meter time trial --- nervous for a couple of days in anticipation of the pain but also anxious to see where I'm at.
Hit 400 meters completely fried. Struggle for another 200 meters before finally bailing as just nothing left.
Injuries. The older you get, the more they pile on. I haven't been injury free in probably 5 years (I'm 31..)
Every Tom, Dick and Harry gloating on the sidelines and expecting preferential treatment for one reason or another. It might be an embellished version of volunteer they carry as a title for an otherwise non-crucial and usually self-appointed involvement with the sport. Or even the type demanding respect because of watered down race results from over 20 years ago that nobody cares to remember.
Things of that nature.

Tying up is not painful, just difficult. That's the secret to holding form, grit your teeth and make the effort.
Shorty shorty on skinny white legs, ewwww!
Losing.
Happened yesterday.
It was hot but somehow I decided to do my 5M easy at 4pm. Had to stop after 3M and walk back home.

Same for me. Whatever's second on this list is WAY, WAY, WAY far behind.
What I call running relativism. Everybody's a winner. Finisher medals for everyone and the idea that a 5 hour marathon is as good as 2:30, if not better because the 5 hour marathoner is out there twice as long.

The intelligence quotient of most high school coaches falling somewhere between coal miner and street sweeper.

Running has "crippled" me.
I have issues with that.
Injuries. It's always like tone steps forward, two steps back.
