Had knee surgery in June. Radial medial meniscus tear excised. Surgeon said about 75% of posterior horn removed and there was some rough articular damage that he "smoothed" out. He said the articular damage was not too extensive, grade 2 and probably related to irritation from the tear. The rehab went pretty well with range of motion returning quickly. There was a bit more tenderness than the last time I had this done on the opposite knee and was told it was due to the smoothing of the articular cartilage and that would take a bit more time to recover.
Now 7 weeks out, I have run a handful of times, not more than 20 or 30 minutes. The first few seemed good without much, if any pain or discomfort. My last run produced considerable pain and it feels a bit swollen inside the joint, although not visibly when looking at it. Is it possible I just started back up too soon. Anyone with similar experiences that they can share. Just looking for a bit of hope to return to even casual running. Mid 40s, if that helps.
