How about the In-and-Out challenge?
There were no In-and-Out Burger restaurants in our state, while I was in HS, so someone came up with this challenge to drive all the way to the state line and back, on a weeknight, without missing school the next morning. It was about a 16 hour effort.
No one even attempted it while I was in school but a few years later someone pulled it off.
