What now, HOYAS!!!?? All that protesting that nothing was going on? Full of it, they should rescind all the scholarships of the athletes on the team involved.
Losers.

Wow, the university b**** smacked the team. I'm glad the kids got hit hard with it too. Bunch of punks deserve it for forcing their coach to resign and multiple people losing their jobs. That's too bad for Henner. Seems like s good guy.
I'm a student at Georgetown. I'm not on the team but what most here would consider a "hobby jogger." Anyway, the idiot who sent the video over the school email service will probably transfer. Evrybody hates him now. I also got a chance to see the "scavenger list" and I just want to say 90% chance most of the kids involved in this are either bi, bicurious, or closeted homosexuals. There is no way a list that involves sodomy and licking another grown mans butt hole is okay.
There should be a ton of criticism directed at the young lady who alleged racism in the program. She was completely full of crap and the investigation confirmed it!
Every single quote in regards to that investigation found the coaches completely without fault. As a fellow coach I find it reprehensible that these people had to have their names dragged through the mud for pure slander.
You realize that G'town was trying to protect Henner for his years of service, right?
Of course Henner is at fault. He was totally hands-off with the program, lost control, and showed no leadership.
However, I am sure he will land a gig by the start of the XC season.
Yeah, because the young lady is the real crux of the problem here. That's why the young white guys on the team go around measuring each others' penises and engaging in other sorts of perverse behavior - with the (implicit) sanctioning of the coaching staff since this all went on under their watch. Yup - it's all about the young woman on the team. Maybe G'Town men's XC will actually achieve some results commensurate with the talent they get each year.
Yellowherring,
I am not defending the men on the team for the behavior they engaged in.
However, a member of the women's team cried racism and THERE WAS ZERO found in the investigation to indicate racism of any kind in the program.
There were two SEPARATE investigations. The one involving the men's team was obviously well founded and it looks like will have appropriate consequences.
The 2nd investigation was one that alleged racist treatment of minority student athlete's by the coaching staff and team. This was investigated outside of the athletic department and was found to be completely false. That was a direct result of the young lady's complains, so YES, it is 100% her fault in regards to this specific investigation. She cried wolf.
Who will be the new coach?
Big deal, not just the resignation of a coach but the cancellation of 7 weekends of competition in 2015-2016.

I talked to a team member. He said the list was viewed as totally ridiculous stuff, an impossible list to hit along the lines of some list in some sort of ski video (GNAR is that the name?).
Anyway, let me share a story. Before I started coaching at Cornell, I asked an athlete what the head coach was like. He said, "He's a bit paranoid. Every year, he goes crazy at least once saying, "You guys do one thing stupid and I get fired."
The kid thought it was ridiculous but this clearly shows that's the case. Coaches, unlike professors, are often held accountable for what their athletes do outside of practice.
Are they going to miss 7 meets or does 7 meets refer to the first 7 weeks of the season? If it's 7 meets, then the season is over as their 8th meet last was NCAAs.

PS. I changed the title of the thread to make it more descriptive for people who have no idea what a thread entitled "Georgetown" means.
Any athlete on that team involved in the misconduct has to feel really bad for the coach taking the vast share of the consequences.
Do the sanctions apply to the women's team too? Georgetown is returning a lot of their senior women from last year including Katrina Coogan. I would think she would find something else to do if the team barely gets a chance to run next season.
I've read two separate articles on this and it still isn't clear what the team members supposedly did. Something about a video and a list? Can anyone elaborate? How does this fit in with that black girl who was complaining of racism? Thanks.

So bashing homosexuality and punishing those "engaging in other sorts of perverse behavior - with the (implicit) santioning of the coaching staff" is not a hate crime as long as most of the homosexuals are white and the person yelling "racism" is black?
Black Privilege strikes again.
Top of the racist caste system.

Cliff notes version. The men split the freshmen up into a couple of teams. There were points for a scavenger list of stuff. Like bang this girl is 5 points, bang another girl 100 points, get a girl's panties, etc. Some of the stuff was quite vile - ejaculate into a salt shaker. There might have been some homoerotic stuff - lick a dude's balls?
Much of the stuff was so over the top it probably was a total joke. DIdn't the list show up on the blog or on the other thread on here?
I can't find it but some of it is talked about here:
http://exposegtowntrack.blogspot.co.uk/Just read the first three articles at the top. They give enough detail about what generally went on regarding the misconduct
Does anyone know why the Washington Post doesn't name the names of the two accusers - one alleging racism and one hazing. I don't get why they don't have to play in the big leagues with their names behind an accusation.
I know journalists don't name names when sexual assault is alleged but have never heard of it in these type of cases.
The not naming of names in sexual assault to me is stupidity. It actual is sexist against women. It implies that the woman alleging the assault has something to be ashamed of.
If you were the victim of a crime or something bad, there should be nothing wrong with your name being out there.

Women get angry and make up stuff, way more than "the powers that be" are going to admit to, as we've seen with all the false rape claims lately (UVA, etc). Women who are telling lies to get revenge want to do it in a vague way, ideally that doesn't expose their own identity, so they don't get ruined when it turns out to be lies.
Once the accused is found guilty, yes. Far too many false accusation cases.

IT IS NOT 7 XC MEETS. IT IS 7 WEEKENDS IN 2015-2016. THIS CAN REALLY MEAN ANYTHING.
THIS IS ONLY THE MENS TEAM.
