Indian sprinter Dutee Chand won her case with the Court for Arbitration for Sport saying that high testosterone levels were not a proper test in order for a female athlete to be considered transgendered and ineligible to compete against other women in competition. Therefore, hormone therapy is no longer deemed mandatory for a female athlete with abnormally high testosterone to be allowed to compete against other women. As of now there is no official test on how to determine whether an athlete is considered female or transgendered.
Which got me thinking, Caster Semenya hasn't been the same athlete since her transgenderism was discovered after winning Worlds back in 2009 (she had allegedly been forced to undergo hormone therapy in order to compete against other women). If athletes can no longer be forced to undergo this therapy, what is to stop Caster from quitting her own therapy and returning to her form from 2009? While Eunice Sum has been dominating the world ranks at 800m as of late, her PR is only 1:57.38, and Caster was running 1:55 at her peak!
Thoughts welcome (while this post might seem trollish, I'm actually somewhat serious. The governing body of the sport needs to figure out the proper stance on transgenderism, or else women's sports are going to get REAL interesting!)
