Last year, I posted my training up here and was vehemently discriminated for the time I ran for 5k.
The posters here said I did not train hard enough and that I didn't put in the effort of the 14, 15 and 16 minute runners who think they own this place and talent does not exist. I am not a talented runner so I put their if you work hard, you can run 15 or 16 for 5k to the test
I have run 80 miles a week for the last 7 months to see what would happen. I have improved but not by as much as the snobby 15 min 5kers said. I still have not run under 20 minutes and given it everything my body has.
I put more effort in than nearly every other runner here but just because I am not talented, they call me lazy because I am not fast. The attitude towards slower runners here is disgusting and needs to change. A lot of us who are running slower than 20 minutes for 5k are putting in just as much if not more effort than the 14, 15 and 16 minute runners and deserve respect and not to be ridiculed here.
I will keep posting here until this place is free of ridicule towards slower runners. Now, do you still believe that 15 minute 5k runners are putting in more effort than 20 minute runners who have a real body?
Thanks
Mike
