26 y/o male, self coach, been running 16:30 and 34's consistently off an average of 45mpw steady for 3 years and weekly long run of 10-12 miles. There's a marathon in my city in 10 weeks and I want to do it on impulse.
What should I do in the next 10 weeks? I'm thinking drop all track workouts, get long run up to 22 miles, and get as much volume in as possible. Obviously it's not enough time to transition to marathon specialist form, but if Mcmillan says I'm capable of 2:39, is 2:45 reasonable? or should I just aim for sub-3?
