I had a feeling of ambivalence after mocking myself in the mirror.
Not really, so I figure I'm not doing it right.
I'm a hobby jogger (average easy run pace 9:00-10:00 min / mile).I love this site and the info I have gleaned from it. I started running at 37 and have run a 23min 5k and a 53min 10k. I avoid the Obama threads and focus on the search button.Honestly, I don't really care about professional track athletes.Life's what you make it, man.

99% of LR is of the hobby jogging crowd. Everyone just either trolls or lie about mileage, pace, girth...
Do people make fun of hobby joggers in an attempt to feel better about themselves? The idea that bullies secretly have low self esteem has been debunked: http://news.nationalpost.com/health/provocative-new-study-finds-bullies-have-highest-self-esteem-social-status-lowest-rates-of-depression
The overwhelming majority of lrc are "hobby joggers". The rest are know it alls or has beens that really never were. The "names" get run off by the latter.
unless you are making a living by running you are a hobby jogger. although some hobby joggers do make a living on their running.
Either mock or be mocked
I never make fun of someone for the speed they run. I do make fun of people who make certain running choices (headphones, arm warmers), and if that counts, no I don't feel better about myself after doing it.
What if running paid for your college and you now have a a job because of it?
