It's a great time to run if your schedule and lifestyle permits. It was my favorite time to run in college, back when planning around it was easy. Now that I have an office job there are some things that I don't like about it.
- It kills your evening and is pretty much not possible if you have a family. If you normally get home about 5:30 or 6, asleep at 10, running can take a huge chunk out of that.
- It's hard to plan meals. With a noon lunch hour I'm starving by the time I run. When I get home it's too close to my run to eat, so I have a light snack. Then there's very little time to cook after so it's usually something quick and easy.
- It conflicts with a ton of social occasions, making me shake up my schedule often. If a friend randomly texts asking to do something later that day it can be hard to get both in.
- Doubling sucks. A 6am run after a night run is tough. I skip too many.
