200m Won by De Grasse in 19.88 (3rd performer of the year) and he beat Dwyer (2nd performer of the year) and Edward (4th performer of the year). This was probably the strongest event.
110H won by Oliver in 13.07 (3rd performer of the year)
PV: won by Barber in 5.80 (also NCAA champion). Barber is the 2nd performer of the year with 5.93.
LJ: Won by Henderson in a world leading 8.52
TJ: Won by Pichardo, the current world leader.
HJ: Won by Drouin in 2.37 (the 3rd performer if the year)
SP: Won by Richards in 21.69 (the 3rd performer of the year)
Decathlon: Won by Warner in 8659 (the 2nd performance of the year)
Obviously mid distance/distance are not as strong. Africa is not part of America unfortunately...
Everything else was quite competitive... I gold medal in any of these events is difficult to get...
Not the WC (obviously). People like Gatlin, Gay, Bolt, Eaton, Kovacs, Jager (who could have been there) were not. Also Kiprop, Farah, Amos (who could not have been there) we're not...
...but anytime, you get world leading performances and top 3 world performers in the majority of events, it's a true world class competition...
Maybe the US will take this competition more seriously in the future and present a better team. They were embarrassing in the majority of events...
