So I want to walk on to my D1 university's track team as a discus thrower. Do I have to meet the walk on standard with an official mark from a meet? Or is it fine if I have only met the standard while practicing and it was recorded on video?

It really depends on the program. If you're looking at a smaller school or at least one with a pretty weak throwing program, then you should be good with the video mark. If it's a competitive squad, you bet your ass you're going to have to prove you can throw. Just go talk to the throwing coach.
