I've posted before that I'm having some big toe problems on my left foot. It started with PF through my arch and that seems to be better after several rounds of oral steroids. However, I have traded that issue with big toe joint pain. I received an injection in that joint 12 days ago and things were going better until yesterday. The big toe joint (the joint itself) that received the injection is not swollen and I don't think it is the cause of the new pain. The new pain is "north" of the big toe joint - like halfway between the toenail and the big toe joint - or the "skinny" part of the big toe. The toe itself is now swollen.
I've had x-rays and I've been told that the skeletal aspects of my (flat) foot are very solid. What is causing my pain?????!!!
It hurts most during the end of the toe-off phase, so quick walking with long strides and sprinting hurts badly. Jogging isn't' too unbearable but it still hurts. Has anyone experienced any luck with a big toe brace such as this? I'm thinking about buying one to try it - especially since they aren't expensive. Thoughts and experiences????
Thanks
