I run like 25 miles a week, about 3 easy runs, a tempo, and a long run. So I ran a 15 for the 5k last year off about 20 miles, thats why I bumped it up... Do you all think that this is too big of an increase...Also, what do you guys think I could do for the 5k this year? I was thinking I could get low 14's. I am a sophomore in high school, last year I was a freshmen...Next year I will be a junior, and in two years I will be a senior. After that I plan to go to college, I think that my goals are to break 13 for the 5k while in high school, and for college, maybe low 11's, or maybe even low 10's. And maybe go pro and break 9. 5k=about 2.1 miles, right? I don't get why that last .1 miles always takes everyone so long, like people can easily run sub 9 for the 2 mile, but then you get on the 5k and they can't even break 13.. Silly right, well I want to change that.
Any thoughts on this are great help. I plan to beat Mo Farah in the next Olympics, so if Mo is on here, I challenge you to a 5k race. Please contact me through this forum if you are up for it/
