Wow. They went fast. I almost got section E but then I must have typed too slow b/c they were gone! I did end up getting section F row 11. Hopefully those are still good seats. We're looking forward to this event!
We already have a placed reserved as well. Crazy the price of some of these places, luckily we found a place (15 min) drive away for a very reasonable price.
Tired of things being in Eugene. I will sit it out.
Is there a way to purchase single day tickets yet? Was just going to go for the 2nd half.
That was the easy part now try to find a hotel room for a per night price under what you paid for your entire ticket package.
Got the cheap seats so I could be near the steeple pit. Bought them at about 2:00 PM Eastern and even in that section the first few rows were sold out.
I can't believe there's not a word on the front page about tickets going on sale.
BTW, if any of you want to save money on lodging, here is a resort that is about 30-40 minutes away. However, it is definitely not for everyone.
0/10
No one on this site needs tickets because they will all have qualified for the trials in their respective event.
Couldn't be more bummed. Tickets for THE OLYMPIC TRIALS went on sale today & not a peep on here about it. I know I sound like a loser but what the eff? Was almost glad not to see a bunch of hoopla & hype leading up to this day (as it meant a little less competition for me getting some seats), but there was no mention anywhere about it on here. Plenty of infantile posts about tight asses, drinking & the like….

This might be how more than a few feel. Weather, finding a place to stay (definitely a challenge), flying to PDX then EUG (in some cases) or renting a car, just had Prefontaine (a given), Nationals and Jr. Nationals there. Beautiful facility but if you mute the TV, watching from home is not too bad.

And I'm the opposite. I won't miss the Trials in Eugene because I'm worried about the where they will be in '20. I'll take Eugene any day over Sacramento, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Atlanta, etc.
I understand the cost of flying from the East Coast, but lodging is not an issue. There is ample housing available if you are willing to look for it. We've rented places within a very short walk of Hayward Field in both '08 and '12. Cheaper than hotels and much nicer having the ability to eat in when we wanted.
Weather? What are you concerned about? I've been to many US Championships and 2 Olympic Trials in Eugene and 2012 was the only time I ever experienced rain in Eugene. Otherwise it was gorgeous weather.
Lodging galore at VHBO and AirB&B homes in and around Eugene. Also, if you are willing to drive about 30-45 minutes, there is very reasonable lodging in places like Cottage Grove, Albany, Corvallis, Creswell.
Why the eff should you have to drive 30-45 minutes to get to the city that the trials are in?!

You don't! Stay in the dorms 2 minutes from Heyward, grab a room on AirBnB (I just did for $20/night), wait for the local hotels to release the extra rooms they're holding for athletes, rent a friggin car & sleep in it, just show up & ask around (more than one night I had a straggler or two sleeping on my hotel room floor in '08 & '12)……depends on how bad you want it.
…and to answer your query, I got tix, also in E, 4th row, right in front of you (I'll leave my sombrero at home), but unlike you, I'm not thrilled. Why were NO seats (I even tried to get a single) available in sections A, B, C, or D one minute after seats went on sale? And why weren't they picking up the phone Monday at 9am (noon ET) when that was one of the advertised ways to buy seats? I logged on & was done by 12:07 but had the phone going to in case someone answered. In '12 I had seats in A, doing same method of purchase.
I did.
I was on their website exactly at 9:00am PDT and already, sections A-D in the west grandstand were gone. WTF?!? How could that have possibly been? Just how many seats/sections were reserved for sponsors, season ticket holders, etc.??? I'm not a season ticket holder, but have been to every major meet there (PRE, Trials, US Champs, etc.) for the past 25 years. It's ridiculous that a lot of avid track & field fans can't seem to get great seats these days.
Anyway, I'm in section E too, and looking forward to another great Trials meet there. I thought they did an outstanding job in 2012 with the fan zone set up, and expect next year's meet to be just as great.
I'm not sure what kind of seats are left now, but if you've never been to the Trials in Eugene, you really owe it to yourself to go just once. Fantastic atmosphere!
I went in 2012 and while it was a fun time, I don't think it would be worth it to go back.
However, for people that didn't get tickets, or got crappy tickets, I remember there being a ton of tickets for below face on craigslist for most, if not all, of the days. If I were going back, I would just buy tickets off craigslist for the days I wanted to go.
Ditto the fact that the '08 & '12 Trials were a freak'in blast. And yes, tho there were day of tix available for face value & sometimes a bit lower, it's not an option for those traveling from afar or those with family members in tow. If you are soloing, I would totally wing it & hold off buying tix, esp. if you are a local. Great seats in Section U are still available right now. Not a bad place to spectate as you see them running at you towards finish line & have them almost directly in front of you right after the race.
I'm a hobby jogger myself so I'd rather watch Mike Rossi run his next marathon and see if he makes any moves. I would also rather monitor any race Kip Litton is registered for. I also regularly monitor Dan Baxley's account in case he is indeed Kip Litton in disguise.
The best part is there is no cost to watch. No tickets to buy.
Section U is a pretty sweat spot, I was there in '12. Added bonus was being so close to athletes when they got on that special podium thing post qualifying. Only bummer was getting DRENCHED during that 10k. Hence me going for the grandstand this time around.
