I run in kinvaras and I'd like a bit of a stiffer shoe to rotate in. What do you guys suggest. Like what shoes can I use in rotation with them?

Stiffer is a very loose criteria. What kind of drop do you want from your shoe? Are you looking to stay within a certain weight range? Which brands other than Saucony have you tried in the past? If you actually give more info then people would be more than happy to help you
I suggest running barefoot and if you need a stiffer sole, just lift your toes more.
I tried seeing if our new shoe site could help you.
I went to the Kinvara 5 page
http://www.letsrun.com/shoes/saucony/kinvara-5/
and typed "stiff" into the search review box.
Only a couple of reviews came up with the word stiff
This guy
http://www.letsrun.com/shoes/review/1939/
said he sometimes wore racing shoes for harder stuff because the Kinvara wasn't stiff enough.
I then went back to see what racing shoes kinvara people might use.
Some wore the adidas adios zero 2
http://www.letsrun.com/shoes/adidas/adizero-adios-2-0/
I typed "stiff" into its review box and found one review saying: "I was looking for eb a low profile trainer and interval shoe that had cushioning and was light and stiff enough for fast running. I found all of the following in this shoe"
So who knows maybe the Adioz Zero 2 will help you.
Stifness is something we don't specifically ask about.
If you're a fan of Saucony but are just looking for a little less shoe than the Kinvara, there are a few good options:
-Saucony Virrata (http://www.saucony.com/en/virrata-2/12356M.html)
This is very much like the Kinvara (at 18mm, same stack height in the forefoot, four mm less in the heel) but in a zero drop rather than the 4mm offered by the Kinvara.
-Saucony Type A6 (http://www.saucony.com/en/type-a6/12360M.html?ref=type%20a6&dwvar_12360M_color=S29007-4#q=type+a6&start=1)
This one's actually a racing flat with a 4mm drop and stack heights of 16mm and 12mm in the heel and forefoot respectively, which is 6mm less than the Kinvara throughout.
Anythings less than the Kinvara is at the least a borderline racing shoe. Adidas will probably have a different feel in their racing shoes which will be more like a trainer since they typically have a more substantial heel-toe difference. Even so, they do have a nice number of stiff, fast shoes.
I agree that you should go look for distance racing shoes with the same heel drop, but maybe different overall stack height. If that's the A6, then boom. You should be able to find plenty of distance racing shoes with approximately the same drop as the Kinvara.
Try Adidas Takumi Sen 3 Boost. Brilliant imo.

Sure appears that the Virrata has gone away. No new version, and getting hard to find old ones. I'm disappointed but not terribly surprised. Simple, cushy, zero-drop shoe. Wears out pretty quick, but love it. Funny, because I don't want to go back to the Kinvara - which is STIFF and hard in comparison - but I guess I might have to.
If anyone has any info on the Virrata staying alive, would be interested to hear.
