I'm guessing you meant 7... I haven't wore the shoe, but am a Zoom Elite fan. The only change made from the 7 to 8 is the upper. That is it. The outsole remains the same, as well as the stack heights. PRO: more flexible upper is what I'm hearing. CON: heavier by a good 1+ ounces per shoe. I was going to pull the trigger on them, but not crazy about the colors they have right now (and being Nike, more will funnel out over the next several months), the price, or the fact that they are heavier. I just ordered the 7's on sale and will be happy.
So it's a stiffer ride? I tend to prefer a stiffer ride
No idea. Outsole is the exact same as the 7's. I can't imagine there being any difference in the ride beside the feel of the upper.
Did they add rubber to the medial side of the outsole? I have the Elite 7, and the medial side of the outsole is just EVA which gets worn down very fast, to the point where the shoe "lists" to the medial side a bit.
In photos of the Elite 8 on Running Warehouse it looks like they added rubber to the medial side, but do those photos match reality?

The last few colorways of the 7 that NIke made has rubber on the medial side and so does the 8.
Personally my only problem with the 8 is that they changed the tongue and made it similar to the tongue on the 6 which I didn't like.
Yes, they added rubber. The outsole is NOT identical. Upper is different, outsole added rubber. Should be positive changes for all I would think.
