So far this summer my training for my soph year of XC has been going well and i am about to run my first 50 mile week. The problem is, I'm leaving for a 10-day scout camp next week, and running even a few steps is completely banned there. Everyone gets up at 7:00 each morning and the camp gets pretty active with traffic the rest of the day until about 10:30 or so, when it's too dark to run. My main option would be to get up really early and sneak out while everyone's asleep, run 5-6 miles, stop by the showers, then try to sneak back to my campsite before anyone's awake (and almost certainly get kicked out if caught). How much fitness could I lose in ten days if I can't run at all? Would trying to lose as little fitness as possible be worth getting in huge trouble if I got caught?
