Did I start the twitter war? Did I orchestrate the verbal altercation? Did I write the articles in the British press?
No, No and No.
I'm simply highlighting what people want to read as any newpspaper editor. Got to the Independent and what is #1 in their athletics site...
What exactly is my agenda?
I would say my agenda is to cover the world of running and give running fans interesting stuff to read.
We aren't a 'tabloid'. Far from it. We have a paid staff that wrote 6,600+ words recapping the Diamond League action yesterday. 6,600 words. Please tell me who else in the world came close to that.
It's not my fault that more than 3 x as many people are currently reading the this thread than our women's recap (more people are reading the men's recap than this thread). Thtat's just what people are interested in.
"Don't blame me. I'm just giving people what they want."
I sure hope you are being ironic, because that is pretty much the textbook definition of tabloid journalism.
What's next? "How can I be biased? Some of my best friends have thyroid problems"? "I like those NOPsters, I just wouldn't want my brother to marry one"? "
You are right. LRC does a lot of great stuff that nobody else does. But you do it with an stunning lack of self-awareness.
