OK, so this is my first year making the college team, and I've pretty much come to the conclusion that my coach and teammates are just a bunch of insensitive "rossmoore" hypocrites. I'm pretty well the slowest on my team (with the exception of one dude who rarely even goes to practice), and it's largely due to a stomach issue I've been dealing with for about 4 months. Having narrowed almost everything down, it's almost certainly gluten/dairy related.
Anyways, we had a stupid pot luck last week, and I brought in some gluten free sandwiches as the dish. When I first walked into the door frame and just stood relatively motionless in the frame (first foot or so in), I could see that the coach was intentionally avoiding me with his eyes. I put the side of my thumb almost on the edge of the platter to emphasize the fact that I was there, and the coach almost got up to go towards the sink. He just sat there, continuing to talk to a few teammates. That was it for me, I just walked back to my car with every intention of going home. Right before someone came to me to the doorway and invited me to come in, so I stayed there for the rest of the night. A few of the fellas DID try the dish I brought, but I could tell most of them were snickering at what had or hadn't been said.
Why am i being ridiculed for something I have no control over??
