I must comment. You were in the zone by running faster
than you could imagine - yet Jager self-sabotaged himself
(theoretically) by looking at the clock.
A. You cannot exit the zone, if you feeling that good.
The finish line was the ultimate goal in addition to be
beating the next man. You consciously exited the zone and paid the price yet
it seemed Jager was mentally prepared.
B. That's why Jager fell? Couldn't believe, body reacted. Body reacts in addition to the thought,
"...how fast I was running." Believe! Right when he looked at the clock/
that last hurdle, imagine --" I am not body nor my thoughts." Then go!
C. With that said, there will be plenty of races.
D. A mentally prepared athlete will (slow down the breathing in that
last 200yds/ relax the face/repeat the above phrase then...go)
E. (even in a steeplechase or marathon) Run your fastest, relaxed 100 meters.
K.I.S.S = keep it simple stalwart!
